10:45am - Meet inside Monarto Zoo at the Visitors Centre (Meet & Greet).

1- 11:30am hop on the Zulu Bus to visit the new Chettah enclosure (Tour Guide on Site) and also in the same area White Rhino's (Tour Guide on Site).

2- Lunch back at the Vistors Centre (Buy or bring your own).

With some luck, I'll be able to make it.

Going away in the June long weekend with some preparation required before hand, so spare weekend days are a rare commodity this time of year.

Have fun Gents...

My wife and I spent a day behind the scenes at Monarto not long back... very good fun...

Must remember to log on a bit more, been a bit long before shots... then again I've been away travelling again

Will see about making the next mini-meet... hopefully the D70 batteries not flat..

/M.

Postby DebT on Wed May 23, 2007 7:56 pm

Hi,
Iv'e been off doing the zoo photography courses the last couple of weekends and have missed the forum but would love to experience Monarto. May catch up Sunday weather permitting but probably wont make a firm decision until the family wake up Sunday Morning

Big V and DanielA - great coverage of the 'Mini Meet' guys. Of course with the exception for Daniel's shot of me, with the comment 'another resident'

For anybody who has not been to Monarto Zoo, suggest you do it before winter sets in. It is a fantastic relaxing day with ease of shooting a number of exciting animals.

I know this meet was a while ago, but I have a question about Monarto that I am hoping someone can answer.

We are looking at going there on the weekend for my mums birthday, but just wondering do you need to be able to walk around a lot. We are thinking about taking my grandparents who really cant walk around a lot, is it worth taking them or would it be a waste of their time?

Your help is appreciated

asho - all of the paths are unsealed and unsuitable for the frail.

The best areas are covered by bus trips. Your Grandparents could always stay seated at the Visitors Centre Kiosk Area as plenty of seating while the other members of the party could go on bus trips. There are some animals immediate below the Vistors Centre.

I would suggest ringing Monarto Zoo for further information, refer to the bottom of the website page below:-

http://www.adelaidezoo.com.au/monarto/p ... mation.php

I am of the understanding that rain is expected on both Saturday and Sunday :(
