EOI for Tour Down Under meet

Postby DanielA on Mon Jan 14, 2008 10:00 pm

Well it's that time again when Adelaide hosts the cycling Tour Down Under.
Last year we had a successful meet at the Adelaide City Council Street Circuit.

Anyone interested in another meet on Sunday 27 January 2008?

No promises, just expressions of interest at this stage...

Daniel, first post on the new system...

The old Ninja Monopod hey! I reckon I saw you yesterday in the mount (or just out of it) in a truck, I was in town for a couple hours doing yet another 12 minute job at the Govt's expense..... Took longer to book plane tickets and hire a car than do the actual job...

Smurph, If I make it I'll prob have it with me. I will be floating around at a few of the other days if I get time outa work too. a possible Sunday evening at Glenelg might be on the books too!

Now for suggestions on a meeting point. You can check the map.

I'll put forth somewhere around the starting line or NW corner (on the outside). Then we could head south.

If no one has a another suggestion, then I recommend a 1:30pm meet up around the NW corner of the track.

Daniel - so I/we will see you at the outside corner of East Terrace and Rundle Road at 1:30pm this coming Sunday :)

Edit:  - you might want to send Gary Stark a PM, to have this 'Meet' added to the Calendar on the home page, with a link to this thread, in the hope of capturing more members along on the day.

So the outside corner of Rundle Rd, and East Terrace it is.

I'll be the guy lugging two Nikon bodies and most probably a monopod.

Will be good to finally meet some of you guys.

Cheers.

Daniel - from memory, I think I was trying to find you in the crowd.

The Zoo was very quiet, as most of the animals were asleep :( I really didn't mind, as I was parked near the entrance. Sad news for everyone, I renewed my Membership on Sunday, until 1st February, 2009.

Sorry I missed it guys! :( Had a few emergency issues at work that needed sorting unfortunately.

I was pretty well all biked out after chasing the tour for four days. Havent downloaded anything yet but hope there is some good stuff in there!

Annoyed me after sitting at Victor harbour for an hour in the sun to get a perfect finish line spot, that some of the support crew and media promptly stood in front of us (on track) despite a few hundred people around me getting rather verbal to them..... Poor form guys!!
It was too late to move so I at least got to leave early and beat the traffic ! Was back in the city 45 mins later :P
