Great Ocean Road tour recommendations

Postby adam on Mon Feb 19, 2007 4:32 pm

Hi!
I'm currently in Melbourne and interested to see the great ocean road (and the twelve apostles) and other places of interest around the place.
Can anyone here recommend a good tour group to follow? I haven't been with a tour before, but it seems the best way to get there. Do they allow enough time for photo-taking? Thanks

If i were doing it again (and i will as its an awsome place to visit) i would allow even more time to see that area, i spent a whole afternoon at the 12 apostles, the tour buses came and went and missed the best afternoon light, my advice is to go your own way!

I second that.
I would also recommend mid winter during a storm.
The first time (~1973) I was there, the waves were breaking over the cliffs. I wasn't game to get the camera out (film anyway) but I still have vivid memories. Much more so than on milkpond subsequent visits.
