Rosemary Laing exhibition at MCA

Postby birddog114 on Fri Mar 18, 2005 7:04 am

The unquiet landscapes of Rosemary Laing exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art from 23 March to 5th June 2005.

An extraction from the article of MCA:

" Rosemary Laing is a leading Australian photomedia artist. In her works she examines our complex relationship to the landsacpe by staging allegorical and dramatic scenarios which are captured by the camera as beautiful, hyperreal images"

Sounds like the reviewer had a thesaurus with him. Probably some pretentious wanker sipping a cafe latte in his 'fave' paddington coffee house.

Another article to put in the 'When Prose Goes Bad' book.

However, in my opinion, Rosemary Laing is a very talented artist. Her exhibition would be well worth looking over.

I have been down to the MCA a few times to check out her work.

Not much a fan of the of the groundspeed series but I do find myself spending a lot time looking at the the flight research and bulletproofglass series.

Don't rush in and out of the Rosemary Laing exhibition - the other exhibition is just as fascinating and very inventive!

And don't miss Rosemary's carpeted forest pics! They're great.

Over at the National Trust cafe on Observatory Hill there's an exhibition of Heritage Photo Competition pictures, too.
