Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Well - we're back. Two and a half weeks, 7,850km 8)

Obviously haven't had time to go through the pics properly yet, letalone process fully - but I thought I'd at least post a few here for comment...

Image
Kings Canyon - this tree caught my eye

Image
Kings Canyon again - the usual tourist shot - Little Sheepie (Lucas) on the right, and his cousin who joined us on this trip

Image
Coming out of Brachina Gorge, Flinders Ranges - I like these shots, as they remind my of what I see looking behind as we're travelling. Would like some feedback on what others think of this style though.

Image
My Brother - Eric - getting a better angle. For those that laugh at this approach, it really can make all the difference getting that little bit higher.

I'll post some more down the track, along with a map showing just where we went. Right now, I need to unpack the car and trailer ;) I'm not even going to attempt catching up on the 1000+ posts here while I've been gone!

Leon,

the tree photo works very well, a bit of separation from the top of the tree and the clouds would be nice, but I'm just being picky ;)

The second one is very good with the guys on there, gives it scale.

The one with the ute and the road in the back works well but I find the colours a bit flat.

Had a quick look in your gallery, what's your brother doing with a Canon

Great trip, welcome back.

I really like the tree! Great colour and contrast.

I like the man on top of car approach. Obviously he doesn't mind that he is scratching the roof

Thanks Andre - that's the pic I'm most interested in feedback on I guess. The colours look as I think they should on my screen, but it may be time for me to look at recalibration - I'll see what I can do with it :)

As for Eric having a Canon, you can't help some people ;)

Thanks also for the other comments guys - appreciate your time :)
