Pic of the week 25.4.05

Postby Geoff on Mon Apr 25, 2005 11:23 pm

Well, this week the photo I liked most was one of Flipfrogs. I chose this image as it's taken from a somewhat different perspective. The lines that draw into this massive cruiser are impressive and I think the angles that Dee (flipfrog) have utilised are great. Congratulations Flipfrog on another fine photo for the Picture of the Week competition. Here is the photo:

thanks again Geoff for choosing one of my images ~blush~

i took a bunch of images similiar to this one with different DOF and this one was the better of the bunch...

this was the Royal Caribbean "Vision of the Seas" which i called home for 7 days as we cruised the west coast of Mexico during spring break...
this ship had everything: casino, rock climbing wall, theatres, spas, bars lounges, pools, and accomodated around 3000 guests...midnight chocolate buffets, pool-side BBQ's, fine dining, and all you can eat dinner buffets were all part of this 7 day luxury cruise.....

we stayed in 3 ports: Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, and Peurto Vallarta during the vacation..

This is a breathtaking shot Dee. SO perfectly composed. I find your mostly but not quite fully desaturated choice an interesting one, or is it just a little boost of blue? Care to elaborate on why you decided to do that (don't get me wrong I think it works). Maybe it gives it that summery feel? Maybe you just liked it more?

I missed your original post of this one Dee but I'm very pleased Geoff has seen fit to bring it to our attention once again. A very deserving POTW. Congratulations.

Congratulations Dee. Missed this first time around. This is a really well composed shot and I'd not have picked it as one of yours given the UNDER saturated look.

And you're our first two time winner (we can't count last week, can we  )

excellent shot, especially like the perspective going up to the huge starboard from the ropes. Blue Saturation has worked well also.
