This must have been a long time coming. Nice touch with the teleconverter though. Would be quite 'long' on a crop camera!

If you can imagine with me.. 1.4x teleconverter + 1.6x crop body = 2x factor with one stop less light.

therefore : 7D + 200-400 f4L HS USM (extender ON) = 400-800mm f5.6

yeah...

Is it not 1.6X1.4 = 2.24 so, 450mm - 900mm 5.6 ?

T'would be nice, but most probably out of my price league. Having said that, I have just purchased a brand new 50mm f1.2 which is one chunk of glass. I'm hoping the previous focus problems have been ironed out by now.

I'd like that lens!
I've had a 100-400mm for about a year now and there's been times I wished it was a bit longer.
