140 views, and not one recognisable comment from anyone here in that topic at Flickr's NX group.

Yes, I can't see a post there from someone called VK4CP. Is this a matter of you not practising what you preach? I can't see one there by "Adam" either, so perhaps you're using another name? Edit, I've just reread the post - Arial View is probably you right?

My name, both here AND on Flickr is BullcreekBob, I might not be on "your" list of favoured ppl here but I've made over 300 posts on DSLRUsers and I'm a regular contributor to discussions and to the photo pool of the Flickr group you're referring too. Perhaps you missed my post on Flickr because I made it before you posted here ?

Be careful of high horses, it usually just means further to fall.

Adam, it probably represents who has NX2. I was appreciative of the fact they bundled NX1 in with my D300, not so appreciative when they effectively implied they only bundled it because it was obsolete. I still use NX1, many here use other programs and with Nikon track record in changing systems rather than evolution I can understand why some are reluctant to try Nik software. Not that I am saying it is a bad thing as it needed changing but NX2 is meant to be a whole new system to NX1, which was a whole new system to ....

It may be worth asking who uses NX2 here, it may not be as popular as you think. I agree with you this a golden opportunity to communicate directly with an interested product manager, maybe if you put his email in rather that requirement of registering somewhere else. Some may see that as an impediment.

My apologies - I will know for next time.

It was you that said No one from here commented in that thread on the Flickr group. I pointed out that I am here AND I commented in that Flickr thread. Therefore your claim is incorect.

It is possible that some other people from here (DSLRUsers) may have commented in the Flickr group but the link would not be obvious if they used a different name. I pointed out that I use the same name in both forums so there is no reason for you not "recognise me".
Cheers

Rooz, B&H offer a $60 discount if you have NX1. ECS still seems to be selling Capture 4.2! I would check on the key first, my version was very big about logging back into nikon upon registration, etc. I am sure computer gurus know a way around but for a casual user it seemed more secure than previous versions.

Adam, I admire your enthusiasm on this, when I upgrade to NX3 I feel I should throw a small thank you in for you and others with similar passion.

Alternatively you could try the Nikon Mall, but having never used that myself, I am not sure how orders from different regions are handled.

Unless it's changed recently, it doesn't. Last time I tried (to buy C4) it spat the dummy as soon as I tried to give a non-US address.

I use CNX and see no reason to throw good money after bad. When I hear good reports of the way CNX500 performs & handles memory I might reconsider.

I like the interface and the way it handles NEFs, but I don't like the way my system grinds to a halt after processing a few pictures. I only have 2Gb RAM and 300Gb HDD or so free, so I have to expect some performance hits.

I capture RAW+JPG & for preference use the JPG in PSCS2. I only use CNX if I need to recover an incorrect WB or similar, or expect to do multiple passes of enhancement/correction. Then I use CNX to create a TIFF from the NEF then switch to PS.

Sorry, I thought it was quite clear.

Click on the Flickr group link I provided above - that is where Mike is watching.
If you do not have a Flickr account you will need to sign up, so you can post.
That takes seconds to do anyway.

:D

yeah i worked it out - and commented. thanks for posting the link :)
