it does look interesting. Not sure I'll make it down the hill though.

As I read it, the open pass is for Sunday and is all day.
Saturday is for guided tours.
Friday night is is free.

I'm up for it Matt. Might be worth doing the Friday night as well as the Sunday I reckon to get some out of the way and check the lie of the land. Some of those buildings are always "free" and open like St James Church. ALso note some, such as the Great Synagogue have photography restirctions (there's a camera icon to help). Some are also marked "Lines expected - arrive early". And bugger - State Theatre = no photography. Why?

Being stuck at work on a Sunday rules me out of a Sunday meet....but if we do a Friday night session I should be able to come out!

I'd be interested - in Friday and Sunday if I can get a free pass from the family :)

I'd also like to know beforehand if tripods are going to be OK (so I'd know whether to bring it and lug other gear).

Update: I've sent them an email to ask...

"I’ve checked with one of the event organisers and she mentioned that tripods should be ok to use"

so not exactly conclusive but promising... wonder what the crowds will be like at these locations however

This kinda went nowhere. So I'm gongn to bump it like this....

I'll be down for this which is next Sunday 4/11/12. There are far too many buldings to do all of them so we need a shortlist. Some prohibit photography so they can come off the list, but even so it's a lot. Who's interested in making this a meet on the Sunday (and possibly the Friday as well)?

Do we try to come up with a doable list and move around together or do we all just do our thing and share the results?

Hmmm

Underwhelming interest. Cameron & Rodney Friday (maybe). Rodney Sunday (maybe) and that's it. Guess I just go do my own thing then :(

It also reminds my there's no value in organising forum events anymore so this is the last time I intend to attempt to do so. Doing so always has the potential to impact my flexibility and so in future I can just be selfish. Sad that it's come to this.

I still have some gear with me at my place (as opposed to at my parents where it has been residing since my move) so I am more than keen to meet up tomorrow night if you guys are out and about.

On the other hand
Further research indicates that I can get into most of these buildings most anytime anyway. At $40....maybe not.

I was in the CBD that day and saw groups of people hanging around outside some buildings. It looked a little slow and I suspect that in some cases they didn't even go inside...but were given a talk on the footpath. I think I'm glad I missed it. Might of been of interest to history buffs perhaps and designers.
