Have done a very quick PP job on most of these - would welcome any comments. Thanks all :)

Thanks Glen - yes, just the one flat. I cooked the tyre though unfortunately - was surprised that there wasn;t any feeling in the handling of the car to suggest a flat and it was only when we stopped that we realised - by that time the sidewall was well and truly stuffed, lucky it didn't start coming apart on us!
We take a second spare with us on these trips - haven't needed it yet, but it's nice to have that extra protection out there. While not being as far off the normal routes as some people here go, it's still a long way between major supply centres!

surenj: yes, it's a long way in a pretty short time. I love driving though, and jus being out there is relaxing in it's special way. For a change, we got back with a couple of spare days of holiday this time - so I had a few days break before heading back to work.

Great photos Leon. It's a shame to see Ayers Rock fenced off like that. Were you not allowed to climb it? The last time I was there people were 'discouraged' from climbing it, although I had already done so some years before. I guess it was just a matter of time before climbing was banned.
