Hello,

Trying to rack my brain over electrical theory...

Is there any reason that a set of Bowens Pulsar triggers ordered from BH (USA) would not work here? like these http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&Q=&is=REG&O=productlist&sku=352553
They are battery operated, if I only plan to use between each other, and not locally purcahsed ones, I think it would be fine. The USD is so low it just makes more sense to by US...

Any electronic tech minds in here know otherwise?

What distances do you need to use them across? For short range, optical triggers should be fine. For longer distances, the Pocket Wizards aren't much more expensive and are supposed to be excellent.

need radio, to shoot around corners...

I like the Pocket Wizards for rep, and sekonic compatibility, but the bowens are much smaller on camera, and thats my decision maker - but not a solid one...

i have used one on a Hensel and Hyundai Photonics strobe set and they work even around corners assuming your in a studio environment with walls the radio signal can bounce off

they look cheap but they do the job

after you have tried these out you can move to the more expensive triggers if needed

I would suggest those units you mention above if it wasn't for the fact that Bruce is using the Bowens location kit that has a battery pack option. That radio slave would only work in a studio environment where you have 240volt power supply.

My advice would be to go with the Bowens slaves from B+H... I think they might be on a different frequency to the local units however given that they are battery powered there should be no problem with voltage compatibility.

i do remember getting intermitent results outdoors with a similar cheapo trigger with a hensel porty pack

Hopefully this will reduce missfires significantly... faulty equipment makes me look foolish... or even more foolish than I am...
