During our trip up the Kimberley coast, we took a helicopter ride that took 15 minutes to and fro to see the Mitchell Falls (Punamii-unpuu). The waters of the Mitchell River runs along the Mitchell Plateau carving the sandstone and producing layers of mesmerising emerald water pools from which the waters tumble from one to the next. Swimming is not permitted below the falls, due to the possible presence of saltwater crocodiles. The falls are an iconic Kimberley landmark and a place of cultural and spiritual significance for the Wunambal people. I hope you like the picture.
