This sculpture is a contemporary marker for the eastern end of Kangaroo Point Park, acting as a portal between sea and sky. It has a lightness and warmth apparent both to the user and observer, inspired by a rich mix of cultural, astrological and natural references. The sculpture was considered not just as sitting within Kangaroo Point Park, but in the wider context of the city. The form and geometry of the piece are intrinsically linked to the structure and vice versa, resulting in a seamless piece where function and decoration are indistinguishable.
