Very busy place Times Square. Hope to get there one day
![]() I think the third shots just illustrates how important it is to not underexpose the shots when using high ISO. The third shot while highlights cop a bit of a blowout in parts really shows just how well the D70 does in high ISO in the hands of a good operator. ![]() How does the D200 compare in this situation ![]() cheers marco
Times Square is just too cool. ![]() I was really happy with the exposures I got from the d70. My preliminary tests and impressions indicate that the d200 might have a little more dynamic range and equal or better noise performance. I don't have a Times Square type of place to go test the d200, so it will have to wait a while. Next month, I plan to attend the dog show, so I'll be running the d200 at high ISO there, but it's not really a high contrast type of scene like these shots. my gallery of so-so photos

Love it, this and all your other NYC threads brings back so many personal memories of my favourite place in the world.
Kerry I hope you're sticking around NYC for the new year's eve celebrations. The 'centre of the universe', it's gunna go off! ![]()
Thanks Onyx, glad you enjoyed them. ![]() I wish I were there too. My hotel was only 1 block away from the Times Square area. ![]() ![]() my gallery of so-so photos

Times Square was a great place to visit when I was in NY a few years ago. Great shots. What noise reduction have you used on these?? Any special sharpening techniques (like dropping into LAB etc)??
Smile; it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
Nito: Thanks for the kind comments.
