Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Uuuuh nooo... that thing was very much alive and hanging just outside our kitchen window waiting to catch flies and suck their guts out! ![]() To take the pic, I had to have the lens (Sigma 50mm 1:1 macro) just a few cm away from the spider. This task was made much more "interesting" by the fact that it was a windy evening and the thing was moving back and forth right in front of my face! I used an external flash and shot this at f22 (if I remember correctly) Used PS to remove part of the background and then added a drop shadow to the legs to give the impression they were "sticking out" of the picture, so to speak. Not sure if I succeeded entirely, but I found the effect is interesting nonetheless. "You don't take a photograph, you make it." ~ Ansel Adams
Nice shot very sharp...........Not a fan of spiders was it a big one in real life
