Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Michael! - Gorgeous stuff! Man the forum is cranking out some great silhouettes this is really great (well I think so) I would imagine some might suggest cloning the mic stand on the left, but I say, bugger it, keep it in there.

BTW, great shot, shame about the awning in the topright corner though.

Hi lisa

I'm only fairly young still a teen for another 2 months so gigs for me are normal and I go to alot, so thats a bit of my background and thats why I get to a alot of gigs.

But if you want to get into this sort of thing I would suggest finding out where bands are playing, taking your camera and getting known by introducing yourself to organisers of small gigs and what not.

maybe even offer a few bands a few free cd's of your work of the night, It helps alot with getting known!

Also thanks for the comments muchly appreciated!

thanks... it is a little harder being female i think in regards to the night scene.. I have done a few volunteer events with live bands.. there is no other thrill like it for me. This is my year of trying harder :)

Michael

That is absolutely the best band shot I've seen from you so far and right up there in terms of quality and composition with the best images of any type I've seen here.

I can't see how it would be harder being a female.

I know a few photographers like me that are female and go to alot of gigs and they are just as accepted there as I am.

I think if you push with your interests even harder you'll get to where you wanna be in no time.

I guess I have the whole worry of I am a mother and wife and feel I shouldnt be out at night by myself.. I know I know go for it. I am slowly edging my way in by getting a few contacts here and there, hopefully something will pan out. I have also been writing to a few places like restaurants that have live bands (I think i would feel safer there), they are more intimate. We'll see what this year brings.

I understand

Well even if it's a slow and steady pace into the music scene at least it one in the right direction! Also since you only joined here yesterday let me welcome you to the forum.

That's a magazine or album cover. You have a commercial product there. Well done.
