Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Mt Coree Photos
Went out to Mt Coree (60-70k in to the Brindabella Mountains from Canberra) the other night for a drive with a mate in his new (14 yo) Hilux. Good drive up there, but the clouds descended over us once we were at the top. We ended up surrounded by heavy cloud and ghosty looking snow gums. I got a few interesting pics, please comment/critique them, as I would love some tips.
All lighting was provided by the reflected glow of car spotlights in the heavy fog, except for the last one (illuminated by fog lights). 
30" f/20 ISO100 
I have mixed feelings about this one: (same settings as above.) 
My Favourite from the night: 140" f/8.0 ISO100 
And a portrait of myself. 
(Yes, I know it is a bit soft, I moved in the 0.5") Please excuse the poor JPEG quality.

I was there many years ago (before the big fire). I looks as if nothing is left, all trees dead and some new growth. How was the trip up there ? Cheers, CD

Quite Rough, but good fun.
We were sitting on about 4k/h while climbing the hill. 
Steve, I was aiming for the mood look. I was originally hoping for a pic of Canberra from a distance, but then tried to get some good photos in the fog. Any tips on that? Tristan Canon User

The bold contrast between the lit area in the foreground and the pitch black background in the first really grabs my eye...
The second one has so much mood and ambience, I think it works really well, maybe try a little increased contrast in the foreground via levels or curves, mainly in the blacks for me... Your favorite's another good example, these stark foreground subjects have worked really well, but the first under lights and the second do it for me... And that last one, oooh, that's a murder/mystery cover right there
