Max Biaggi to grace my wallsHi All, well i have decided tograce my lounge room walls with a couple of 20x30 size pics, so many to choose from but i will put my Loris Caparossi Crash shot up and i like this pic i took at last Moto GP of Max so this too will grace the walls. I intend to have them block mounted.
The pic. ![]() Cheers John D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X

Nice mate, real nice!
What lens was that taken with, the 300mm? Show us your other pics your mounting? 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

BBJ, Work out this way: Painting: dust, dirty, and also cost to purchase paint & material and timing. Photos: Look professional, no dust, no dirty, can replace or update with new photos anytime, quick turn around, but it's also costly. Birddog114

Ras the Biaggi shot was taken with the Nikon 300m F2.8. Here is the other shot of Loris, this is the shot that was sold to Italian Magazine and graced the pages of Heral sun etc... Taken with D70 and Sigma 70-200. ![]() Cheers John D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X

Woo hoo, I can see 'em now... Mate, that first one is a good'n... The heat haze behind, so sharp and great color sat and contrast, a pearler...
Oh, I think the one of Loris taking a spill was a really small crop too wasn't it? Still came up bloody great though eh? Aka Andrew
Yes Andrew the crash shot is a crop and cropped some of the space to the right of the image, but printed at 20x30 ok. Yes i like the way the 1st is nice and bright and should look on on the wall. Thanks for the coments.

Hey BBJ, great pics! The colour on the Biaggi shot really pops, and the heat haze from the exhaust shows up well. Good angle, too, I never really spotted the aerial at the rear on these before. Onboard camera? Datalogger?
How did you get the Capirossi shot in focus? It's not exactly a shot he's posed for... Well done on the magazine sale, btw. Interesting shot of Valentino. He's obviously cranked over, but hardly looking into the corner at all. Hmm, just noticed his knee's not down, so he's probably straightening up. Great capture, nice and sharp. Any more pics from the GP? Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
Skippy, i think i took like a 1,000 shots over the weekend of the GP so yes i have plenty. I think it would be date sending with the antena on the back.
The crash shot i caught out of corner of 1 eye and swung around and held finger on the shutter and hoped for the best, as i use low shutter speeds so not perfect but doesnt matter. Ok here is a few more for you. ![]() This pic has my mate in the background, well his legs and his lens sitting on the ground that you can see. ![]() ![]() well off to bed be up after 5am for work. Thanks BBJ, 3 more great pics. They're all pics I'd have on my wall.
Maybe it's the rider in me, but there's something about a pic of someone cranked over far enough that the screen is the highest point that really grabs your attention. Love that first one. If you needed names, it's Toni Elias being chased by Shinya Nakano. Not sure who #28 is, and the guy at the bottom needs no introduction. ![]() Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
Yeh No #28 is a 250 rider, i didnt add names as i am too slack to look them up as these were pic i had on my site but yeh just thought i would make you happy with a couple so i hadn't bothered to frame them.
That shot of Rossi was at turn 1 at the Island and is more of a sweeping bend so no bog knee scraping. D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X

John, they always look better upside down if you have a camera in your hand and manage to get pics of it. ![]() But still makes a nice colourful photo. D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X

John, I wonder how these would look done in a big canvas prints, I mean really big ones? They are expensive but may look sensational.
I just hung one of my landscapes in our new (rental) house, double mat plus quality frame makes it look real good. Cheers, Max President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Just curious what everyone is paying for big prints.. like 20x30 and such? I want to get a few prints done of a couple of my so-so shots ..ive seen pricing around $80.. is this normal?

I can get quality 30"x20" prints (not at a cheap photo lab) for around $40. In fact the last ones I got were on special at $20 each but that was very cheap. (They eventually sold with framing for $285 I think at the local gallery place).

LOL Greg, and Max would be different and i can get done on canvas but yeh the framing would be a killer. I priced some block mounting today and looking at around $66 including a matt laminate. I have decided to get a frame for this max pic.
Price that the shop i get my prints done is not too bad i can get cheaper done in Adelaide at Black and White Photography is good. The general public pay $50 for a 20x30 print off the street and i get a lot cheaper as they do all my printing. Camera house has a special on 6x8's at the moment for 68c and lucky i have some orders for this size. Shop around even if you have to send away and can still be cheaper. Great shots John. Gp's a great event to go to.
The shot of Rossi is on the entry to the turn, have a look at his right hand, on the brakes. Craig Craig

Craig. think that was just coming into turn 2. Had the Biaggi shot printed and framed and looks great, think i might take them to the track this weekend and see if they will sell, if not dont matter they have a spot on my wall, will take the Loris shot out as well.

Turn 1 is a right hand turn, turn two is left. At the top of the photo you can see the two sets of markings on the track. I think this is where the pit lane comes back on to the track in the braking area for turn1. If you cant sell the photos over the weekend try ebay, there are always signed posters up for sale. Even though these are not signed you could sell them as framed or without frame, because they are top quality shots. Craig Craig

Craig, i think i would sell them unframed as of weight and glass so unframed i had thought about it but havent tried it.

Craig, yes they are in inches dont ask me about cm.LOL
Jase i was quoted $66 to block mount and also matt laminate as well, i think this coule be a bit dear as think mate got his cheaper in Adelaide but yeh, not much choice down here so i brought some frames same place that does my printing for $30, blck metal frames cheapies but suit the pics anyhow.
