Itsy Bitsy Spider (ID please)

Well in my opinion these guys weren't as Itsy Bitsy, and the fact that they were all suspended above my head, and those of other bushwalkers. Once I had found these guys I kept a eye out so I didn't wake any of them up.

Anyone spider experts what sort are these ?

I think that there are a plague of the blighters at the moment. Nice work getting its legs in focus Craig. Not sure if you saw this shot - this is the face of an orb spider

Yuck I hate spiders!

I was at a fire all yesterday arv and most of last night and we were in a forrestry park putting in a back burn to try pull the main fire up, anyhow these spiders were absolutly everwhere! you couldnt walk 10 meters off a track without having to walk a different direction to avoid them.

also one of the first trucks there its antenna have about 7 off them hanging off it and they were all re nesting around the siren box and becon of this vehicle.

really scary stuff when its night you need to go to the toilet but you're too affraid to walk into the scrub to do anything.

These are called Golden orb weavers... The large one is the female and the small one in the same web is the male.

If you want to see hundreds of them in one place at a time, go to Bicentenial Park in Homebush and do the walk along the mangroves. Leading up to Easter they are there in the hundreds.

Not sure if I've misinterpreted your post, but there are only 2 spiders in your photos... the other things are other insects that have been neatly packaged up for later consumption...

I can see two spiders in each photo, but I suspect you can't. The second spider in the top two photos is much smaller than the first. He's the bloke Top photo he's above the girly: there's her abdomen, then lunch, then a tiny bloke who's smaller than her abdomen (possibly also lunch)
