Sharp Shots

Have not posted runway shots in a while, so here we go again
usually magazines like full length shots like this
Image

Personally I much prefer tight zoomed to half length shots with some differential focus. For the Zambesi show the models walked slower and did a longer final pose than usual, so i got an opportunity to shoot the commercially boring full length and 1 tight one for my own liking.

shot 70-200 vr off, f4, 1/250-320, ISO800 white balance 2900Kelvin, no flash
lighting was excellent and i found myself sandwiched in the prime position

I also agree with you that the tighter crops work best Wendell. The 3rd and 5th shots in this series are simply wonderful.

Wendel, nice shots once again. I fully agree that the tight crop works the best, although, unfortunately at the end of the day, 'what the magazine wants they gets' (as you'd know).

Always enjoy your posts, great technique, good looking women, now all you need to get in there is a couple of V8 supercars and they'll be perfect!

Well done.

Great work there! 3rd and last ones for me. With the 3rd id like to see that worked up like the do for a cover. Also removing the shadow over the eyes.

I agree they dont have as good skin as they make u believe!!!

Wendell,
Always as impressive... I really feel sorry for these models, like the first one. What she is wearing is not sexy, awful colour and makes her look vulgar.

i agree at first it looks vulgar but perhaps thats the lighting or the timing of the photograph, on closer contemplation that yellow garment is beautiful, free flowing, a statement of confidence

i too like the the classic haute couture

but the modern stuff is beautiful too.

I did not know there was a nice way. I mean "cheap", a bit "shocking", very "common". I think even the way they walk is not feminine (?), or sensual or pleasant in any way. Some of them are not even pleasant to look at, pure and simple, and if you look at some of the outfits, it makes you wonder the point of the whole thing.
