Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I took this photo of a mushroom on a recent trip, the mushroom had burst through the ground and had a puddle of rain on the top.
any thoughts very welcome

Andrew, the DOF is a little to shallow for my liking, and I'd have prefered a little more light to get in up under the mushi. Other then that the perspective and composition work ok for me.

Hi there,

It's pretty noisy, but maybe not your fault :). One thing that got me thinking after reading your description was the water on top, it perhaps would have been nice to somehow make a feature of that as at present I wouldn't have realised it was there.

DOF might be a bit tight yes....

Hope that helps,

Rob

Looks like someone already has had a few nibbles on this mushroom...I like the perspective but as other have said the DoF is a bit shallow.

Thanks everyone, I have another shot of this mushroom taken a little higher and shows more of the water, I'll have a look at it when I get home.
Thanks
