Fire & Water

Postby xerubus on Fri Feb 02, 2007 7:26 pm

Okay... I decided that I would try and mix the water macro shots I have been taking with some fire. Here's the results which I'm pretty chuffed with. I still have to experiment a bit more with lighting and my setup, but at this stage I'm pretty happy that I'm on the right track.

Comments more than welcome.

Mark,

I would be very happy with those efforts.

Good colour, great sharpness, wonderful composition.

Thanks Gary :)

I want to work a bit more on getting the lighting spot on... not too happy with the little flecks of lite. It's fun experimenting :)

thanks everyone...

mic... very simple setup. d70, tamron 90mm, sb800, black background. running water into a glass which is propped up in a bucket to ensure I don't waste any water. water poured into our water purifier for drinking afterwards. naked flame to the right of frame and exposed to ensure the flame is visible.

cheers

Mark

This, and the images in your other thread, are not only wonderfully captured, they show fantastic creativity. These are great examples of photography as an art form. THe real wonder of these for me is how the liquidity of the water looks like a lump of fire ravaged wood turning to charcoal.

Thanks for sharing these.
Peter
