85 at workThanks to johnd I have a very nice 85/1.8 to play with. I went for a jaunt to Fisher Library at Sydney Uni today, and took some shots along the way.

Patrick - all great images! The last one however doesn't really do much for me. I think you will work magic with that lens, congrats!

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug

I love the selective focus on the first image! It caught me off guard and suprises are hard to manufacture with a camera. In the second shot I think you should have waited until he took one more step. That would have been a more satisfying image. The others....they don't work for me. Regards

Sif you don't blow everyone on OCAU away with the "street" stuff
![]() Your B/W Conversions are always spot on and I love the second image, everything about the colour to the drainpipe but am somewhat undecided on the reflected van. Concept on the last one is nice as well.
Nice images. I really like No #64 but the van reflection seems to diminish the image a little bit. Good work and enjoy your new lens.

Nice images mate. Nice and sharp (when they are meant to be). I like the selective colour.

Great images Patrick. Good to see you're enjoying the lens already. I must say that this particular lens helped me decide that I like doing portraits. It's good to see Alan's and my old lens being used so well.
