Many of you will know how difficult it is to photograph objects close up using artificial lighting. You often overpower the subject or get harsh, unflattering shadows.
Here again, we have a flower with a delicate colour that could easily be washed out by a flash. Even with multiple flashes and diffusers, getting the light right is tricky.
With the R1C1 dual-flash setup, I used no diffuser and no tripod. I was able to frame and shoot exactly as I wished. Once again, subtle cross lighting, and great detail because I could get terrific DOF.
The only PP was a minor levels adjustment and my usual sharpening. The colours are straight from the D200.
