Macro flowersThere are a couple of early test shots from Mrs Losfp after I got her a new macro lens - the Tamron 180mm. As she appears reluctant to post her images for critique, I am somewhat obliged to force the issue by posting them FOR her.

Wowsa, thats close up. Please Janelle go easy on him, we don't want to ses Des pulp, that wouldn't be pretty. I prefer the first as the lighting seems a bit better balanced and the detail is very apparent, the second one is funky, but the flash seems a little overdone, that said as test shots these are good.
Can I ask Des and Mrs Losfp why you went for the macro lens you did, just interested in what attracted you to this one, over the 90, or 150mm.
I was going to go for the Tamron 90, however, I got a very good deal on a second hand 180mm ![]() the extra working distance and internal focusing (or rather, the barrel of the lens does not change length when focusing) is a bonus.
The extra working distance would be good for nastier things (spiders bugs etc) Sounds like you picked a good deal, well done.
No need to be beaten up - your wife has done a lot better than many others (inc me) - excellent shots
