Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Have a very limited history with posting pictures on this site, but I was pleased with the results from two days recently.

I think it Would have been better without the flash.
The hot spot on the helmet is distracting. Also the shadow across the LHS eye.

Perhaps have the subject in the shade and light by a white card in the sun.
(Yes I know this is a not tho be repeated shot.

Also perhaps, for this subject, a more straight on view. The additional symmetry would work IMO.

Thanks for the move into comment territory gstark.

Sorry to break the dimension rules, should have linked to a smaller size from the pbase link.

Your wisdom is appreciated Mr Darcy. Unfortunately, things move very quickly at events such as these, and the exposure settings were made by reflex.
I was concentrating on the Warriors' eye.

The little fill flash on the D200 provides a glint to the eyes that would have been lost if exposure was measured to eliminate the glare off the helmet.

Photography is often a juggle of compromises I guess.

I like it! I would just like to have seen more of his right eye. I didn't find myself too distracted by the hot spot on the helmet but I was drawn to his eye(s), which is why I would like to see both of them.
