Chineese New Year Shot
Ok, Thank you to all those that looked at my last posting.
And yes. I think I got that craaaazy HDR stuff out of the system  But heck it was fun! Thanks for the feedback as well!I thought I might post a photo I managed to catch down at the Chineese New Year Festivities. We had gone through an entire day and about 500-600 clicks and got nothing but average snap shots. Finally managed to get this one: Any comments for how to improve this? With cny shots you definitely picked the the right subject. When I do CNY shots i try to make them stand out by showing other sides to dragon and lion dancing that most people don't notice or put them in a different perspective such as
 or  Since you were shooting a dragon I'm not sure I like the fact that you've only chosen the head to shoot...perhaps a shot involving both the dragon and the pearl, or the head and his dancers (although given this angle, probably the first one). I'd also recommend fill flash to light up the eyes a tad and fill out some of the shadow areas. The neck and stuff also leads my eyes out down to the photo corner and i don't like that. I'd rather my attention be kept at the eyes. Here's something I did that's similar to what you did, only problem is the dancer's hand that ruins it, but that can't be helped.
