Yesterday, I decided to try my hand at multi-tasking on the way home. I say in the back seat and tried to watch Alias on my laptop and also shoot out the window as my wife drove me home. Apart from the first one, which was deliberately setup as I waited to leave, all the others where just shot as things presented themselves...

Please let me know what you think, even if you just recommend me saving my shot till I'm on solid ground..

My favourite in this series is the first one. The perspective of the bridge through the fence is great. Almost jail-like, the freedom beyond type image. Well done! The third image (on my monitor at least) looks a little TOO dark..can u increase the exposure? I know it's probably meant to be this way but if u increase exposure just a tad I think it will make the world of difference. Cheers.

I like the ad hoc soaring perspectives, first time i picked up a camera i shot freestyle architecure shots, it's fun the feeling of each shot is nostalgic of an urban amercian landscape like detroit or boston accompanied by a soundtrack of smooth drum n bass with jazz licked grooves. It's hard to get a nicely exposed image in low light when shooting in this maner so i would suggest post processign the shots, the compsoition is fine just the tone would look better is equalized slightly.

I meant i like the darkness of the original shot what i menat by tweaking was making the shadows black and the highlights brighter but in your tweak you just increased exposure/brightness, all tones were changed producing a washed out image, there is no atmospherics to the image.

i will tweak one for example and post soon

but it's only a suggestion it's your vision stick by it.

as a set I only like 2 and 3 the angles work together and the architectural elements contrast nicely one being 1950's facade the other a modern facade.
I think you captured the moon in the 2nd shot too.
i was thinking of a tone like this:

the new tone gives it a hypereal mood.
Your first shot is good too but as a set i think it's too different from the others
you work at jones bay wharf and that place is full of transitional architecture, it's a very photogenic place especially at sunset or early morning, try framing a series of shots that relate to each other either in subject, tone, composition etc ad that will be a good start. I Work at Pier 2 walsh bay the architecture is similar to that of jones bay wharf they are meriton developments. although i think jones bay wharf is more varied and interesting, it's good to shoot what you are familiar with and thejn re-visit it time and time again.

I really like the 2nd Alpha, with the Moon & angled building.

Thanks Mic, it's certainly my favourite of my building shots... I have a whole new batch from yesterday afternoon I'm sorting through.
