Hey everyone, well firstly I'd like to thank JordanP who helped me out during this storm by suggesting appropriate settings for lightning photography. I really wish in this situation I had a remote, but I made the best I could being stuck in the office and tried to capture some of the storm that was raging outside.

Just before the storm hit there was a miserable attempt at a fireworks display I caught the dieing seconds of the show.

These first few are all shown as shot.

These last two I tweak a little in Rawshooter to bring out the lightning from the sky a little more, for me it works, if somewhat crudely..

Overall I'm pretty happy with my first lightning photo's, however I did do the maths. 8 okish lightning photos out of 220 photo's taken. It isn't a very high hit rate.

2nd last and 4th last are my pick. Looks like you were shooting under difficult conditions there. Photographing lightning is challenging at the best of times so you have done well on your first go - glad I could help a little.

As for the 220 shots - imagine if you were still shooting film
