Hi all - I wasn't the only one out last night looking for frogs. Just about stood on this little fellow, and he was understandably upset :)

A very very young carpet snake - probably only a few weeks old. Damian (my other half) must have nearly walked on it, and then when I passed, it struck out at my leg.... plucky little bugger :)

Narelle, that is one of the best snake shots i have seen,
i have had many close encounters with them over the years and tend to opt for caution by heading quickly in the opposite direction,(i nearly stood on a large brown snake near westgate bridge last week)

And even though yours was small and not poisonous i'd still have left him/her alone, congratulations on a great shot

That is a great capture Narelle.

This one is nowhere near as good but the tongue is better.

Dog tongue = revolting.

Snake tongue = scarey.
.... I am not going to ask how you managed to take this picture. Awesome pic anyway!

Top shot Narelle. :)
You'll have to take me to visit him when he's all grown up. I've been trying to get some snake shots for ages but these guys just jump out at you and Damo wherever you go!
