Well... she finally came to Brisbane... be it all of an hour late.

I was part of the media group and had tarmac access when the aircraft flew in. Michael was also with me and owes me a carton of guinness for getting him there :)

I will be at the hanger in the morning taking shots of when she is revealed. I will post further shots then.

And here she is:

Here's a question your photo's can't answer (we are great BTW).

What does it sound like ? Same, similar or different to your average 747 ?

Here's something very strange.... I cannot recall what she sounded like :( I don't even remember hearing it as I was going crazy hitting the shutter... must have zoned out.

When I am there tomorrow for the takeoff I will make sure I listen out and will let you know.

Michael.... Can you remember her sound?

cheers

Great Shots.... I should have gone but didn't fancy battling the crowds to get there. I would have imagined the crowds to be worse than when the Factory Outlet Shopping Centre opened.

It sure looks like a beast. I can't wait to fly on her!!

From what I've heard of it from news reports it sounds very quiet.

Hey guys! Nice shots!!
The Airbus is actually a fair bit quieter than the Boeing 747 (1/3 quieter maybe?.... not sure of the actual number). I was fortunate enough to be in the hangar this morning - I'll sort out my pics and post some when I'm able!
Ooooo, it's so exciting :D :D :D

Great shots .
But man is that thing ugly . Most aircraft have a majestic look to them, this thing looks umm .. hideous .I know its probably practical ,efficient etc. and all .......

Hey guys - do you think we should try and consolidate as many of our A380 shots onto one thread as possible - eg put them onto Manta's thread as he was the first A380 pic poster today?? Will we clag the place up with A380 shots??? What do you reckon?

Nice work here Mark. Most probably is an ugly plane, but looking back to my days as a sales exec with Australian Airlines, my favourite plane was wide bodied Airbus (A3something), heaps quieter than 767, and had an excellent 1st class section. Those were the good ol' days of automatic upgrades etc.

kinetic,
You're a champ! we are getting bored and sick   with all these A380 threads.
Guess what? another 10 more new thread of this ugly whale tomorrow once it arrived into Melbourne.

Same as another 6 threads of the micro meet on the 11/11/05.

Don't we have anything else to post?

I can't seem to find the consolidated thread... should I start one and remove these ones?

Hi Xerebus,
I leave it up to you (how's that for responsibility :D ). We can either start a new thread and put everything on it - or we can encourage everyone to stick their pics onto the threads that are already here. I guess the only prob with removing the old threads is that we'll lose people's comments.

There's Manta's thread (I beleive it was the first with a pic). Then your threads. and my thread ( I think I have pics from Manta and Steve Griffin on it too).

Do the moderators have any opionions????

Cheers
K

I'm afraid we've probably made everyone sick to death of seeing this thing by now. I've gone back to my pathetic bird shots!!
