First moon shot

Finally remembered to get the camera last night when I saw the moon out. Remembered some information on this forum about using daytime settings and after a bit of trial and error got a fairly decent result.

Shot is with a 70-210, handheld, plus cropping. I would like the detail a bit sharper but I think that has to do with the amount of reach I have and the cropping.

It was a fun experiment though.

I think I need a tripod, you might not be able to see it too clearly but some of the detail is lost. If I had it on a tripod and upped the shutterspeed I might have made a little more of the detail.

I saw some pictures on pixspot of someones moon shots done with a ?-400mm and they were spot on!

Oh to have an extra 190mm of reach.
