Just a couple of images from my weekend in the Mountains.

Please feel free to comment.

Image

A poem, carved into a sandstone boulder at Echo Point, Katoomba.

Another poem. It's not cropped right, but after rotating the image I was left with little to work with :(

Image

I like this one, about a thirty second exposure. A bit of PP to shorten star trails. Noise ninja to remove excess noise also.

I've put these images in my online 'portfolio'. The local council is keen to see my images and continue using me as their photographer. Happy happy.

The third one is brilliant. I love it. The colours are vibrant and the fact you can see the stars as well, just adds to it. Well done.

I like the first one, and what a cool idea engraving the poem in stone.
Your right about the crop on the second one, isn't quiet right.
The third shot doesn't quiet do it for me, perhaps if you had taken multiple exposures and combined them you could of kept the stars but brought the hills out a little more ?

#1 and #2 are both good, with the text well lit and good DOF. #3 is a little too dark for me, although I understand this was the intent of the shot.

Thanks folks.

I like the poems in stone idea also. There were about 8 poems, but some to well lit for my liking. The pics I took were about the most 'arty' I've taken yet  Must have been the thin mountain air....

I was surprised at how bright the night shot over the valley came out. It's been PP'd a bit to reduce the brightness. I'm still learning PS8 so I'm not overly competant with layers yet.

Any other comments would be appreciated.
