Manta - yep, as soon as we hung up, I was down at the Peace Gardens taking shots

But how you can have a 'peace' gardens right beside the Ipswich Highway is beyond me
Albert - yes it was the 105 Nikkor. I'm kind of hooked on this lens, and can't put it down

and yes I used the SB600 with the beer cup for this shot. Most of my macro shots I use fill flash, just to give a little more clarity to parts of the insect which may be slightly in shadow....

Tarotastic - yes, it is a damsel - Nososticta solida. There were heaps of them perched on the tips of Casuarina glauca foliage - they weren't actually on the reeds... come to think of it, and looking at the photo, they blend perfectly with the casuarina foliage. One of my other shots shows one perched on the yellowing tip of the foliage, and the colouration of the thorax matches up with the yellowing, and the rest matches with the remaining section of the foliage. Camouflage at its best
