Ok, it's my day off... what did I do? Went to the "peace gardens' where there is a fairly large 'lake' to take photos of dragon and damselflies.

I'm a girl !!!! I should have gone SHOPPING!!!! Nah - I'll stick to taking photos :)

this does show your gentle side..........and one does what one is comfortable with......... I guess you eat out a lot........ you have set a bench mark for shots of frogs, bugs and snakes that is quite high, so just keep doing it.......

No way...taking photos outdoors is much more fun than fighting with traffic at the shopping centre carpark. :D

Great pic.

Hi Rel, you must have shot this only minutes after I got off the phone to you today. What an excellent capture and a lot nicer to deal with than carpet pythons!

Oh and don't worry about the KKK (Kinetic's Krispy Kremes) ... I'll look after yours for you....promise.... :D

Love this shot. Its like being in another tiny world with other creatures. So real but unreal.
Is your 105 Macro a Nikkor?
Did you use any flash on this shot. Do you normally use flash with your macro work?
Keep up the lovely shots.
Albert

Thank you all so much for your kind comments.
Manta - yep, as soon as we hung up, I was down at the Peace Gardens taking shots :) But how you can have a 'peace' gardens right beside the Ipswich Highway is beyond me :?

Albert - yes it was the 105 Nikkor. I'm kind of hooked on this lens, and can't put it down :) and yes I used the SB600 with the beer cup for this shot. Most of my macro shots I use fill flash, just to give a little more clarity to parts of the insect which may be slightly in shadow....

Greg - thank you as always :)

Tarotastic - yes, it is a damsel - Nososticta solida. There were heaps of them perched on the tips of Casuarina glauca foliage - they weren't actually on the reeds... come to think of it, and looking at the photo, they blend perfectly with the casuarina foliage. One of my other shots shows one perched on the yellowing tip of the foliage, and the colouration of the thorax matches up with the yellowing, and the rest matches with the remaining section of the foliage. Camouflage at its best :)
