What lens was used for these?

Ben is correct on that there is quite a bit of distortion present. You should either step back further to grab these shots, using a longer setting (move from 18 to 24 on, for instance, the Nikkor kit lens) or perhaos apply some correction in your PP.

I'd also look at applying a different underlying curve in NC or Curve Surgery; I suspect some hidden benefits lie in waiting.

I was using the 18-70mm and the settings used were.

#2
Shutter Speed: 30 sec
Exposure Priority: Aperture
F-Stop: f/3.5
ISO: 200
Focal Length: 18mm

#1 (the moon)
As above except for;
F-Stop: f/3.8
Focal Length: 22mm

Might go for another drive Sunday and see if I can get better ones as 5 had to duck in and out of the car due to rain...

Cheers

Here is one that I have played around with alittle!!!

I think I may have to try less than 30sec exposure as there seems to be over exposure in the lights...
