I think these look a tad bland, any suggestions on how to improve them?

If you have photoshop try levels or saturation......or both

what should i be aiming for? removing all hints of blue?

The trip to good landscapes - foreground interest.

I'm sure you could also gain some expertise from the likes of Ken Duncan, his work should be readily available on the web.

Here's the result of a 30-second spiel with the sliders:

I could come out much better with a bit of effort, and by editing the RAW file.
