That's a nice and sharp shot mate. Hippos are great. The detail on that leathery skin is fantastic! What lens and exif if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks everyone, it was taken at the Adelaide Zoo and I hear what you are saying about the fence but I that is how it was and I dont really photoshop my photos...

Matt, that was my point, that you can use any lens to take a good photo if you know your equipment and know your subject.. I use everything from the 18-55 kit lens all the way up to my 80-400 OS lens and a heap in between. As long as it collects light, it will do!!!
