thanks for posting these images.
I am looking into the capability of this lense and I am researching
the application for the mirror lense.
These photos are a great example of how the mirror lense
deals with a busy background.

Mirror lenses must be the reason the term "bokeh" was invented! The catadioptric has never been a popular lens design, you really need to pick your scene with one of these fellas.

I agree. Their forte seems to be long range shots with calm backgrounds. Like slider's fishing boat shot, which shows no sign of mirror optics. They seem to do less well at close range with busy backgrounds. Shallow DOF seems to amplify their bad bokeh.
