Yes, the famous 'dish.' Taken a few years ago before i went digital.

Shot on an F70 and Tokina 28-80 F2.8 on some Kodak film. (The grain looks the same as my D2H noise :) )

Steve,

Had you been on a ladder you may have caught them playing that cricket match.

I also notice that the high values have blown - was that the film or the scanning that did that, do you know? I suspect that a digital capture may have handled the subject brightness range with a little more aplomb.

Thanks for sharing ....

That is, in fact, an experimental giant wok which was going to be used to cook the largest stir-fry in an attempt to make the famous book of records.

A wok that will undoubtedly be heated by a first strike.

Steve I was down there recently and took a lot of pics. It is a very interesting place. Pity I couldn't actually get into the control room though.

I suspect poor exposure :) It is annoying but one has to work with what one has.

Thanks Steve,

Just that with so many links in the chain I can never be sure where these things creep in and I am something of a new chum in the scanning department so your explanation has been quite helpful.

Cheers,

Here is the webcam link,

The story behind how they built the webcam is quite interesting, although I have heard most of the people who work out there are complete tossers with little grip on reality.
