I'd prefer a closer crop as well...maybe a vertical pano crop? the sides don't do much for me.

Posted: Sat Dec 17, 2005 1:04 amthere was actually 2 flashes used one was behind him because there was a big shadow differnce between the back and from which it kinda helped with and one on camera zoomed and pointed at his face to fight the shadow. the lense was a zenitar 15mm fish which i like on digi it's not very fishy but it's wide enough to be useful.

Posted: Sat Dec 17, 2005 5:23 pmIt all depends on what you're trying to convey. Here the image shows the concentration of the rider plus the large drop to terrafirma. If you went in with a tighter crop it'd be a different image all together as you'd lose the perspective of how far up he is.

thats pretty much it i think what i would do differently is show more landing (ie the grass) that puts the rider in the corner more not so centered. if you go to tight you may as well just take the photo on a car park 2 foot rail. the trick is to show the move as well as the rider
