Was just getting some stuff ready for submission to the FOTZ dudes and realised I haven't posted any animal stuff for ages... You know what I'm like, can't help myself with these guys

Melbourne zoo a little while ago...

Contemplation
EXIF: D70, 80-400VR@400mm, F7.1, ISO400, 1/25th!!! (How's that for an ad for VR!) Damn, forgot to sharpen after re-size too... Think it has a slight color cast due to the glass too :?

Queen of the castle

I like the pussy cat........but a tighter crop at the top and a bit more contrast would help ........ from memory it would have been shot through glass ???

Thanks for the tip BP, for some reason I always wimp out on the contrast, dunno why. I should have cropped for the post, you're right... Oh, the pussy cat was through cage wires too, no glass for that one, just glass for the monkey in the first shot... Cheers mate.

Nice images Andrew I agree more contrast would give a little more oomph. Good luck with the submission to the magazine. Great eye contact with the snow leopard
cheers

Excellent animal expressions here Andrew, I photographed a possum in QLD last week, then PS to make him crosseyed, and all the kids at the camp I was at loved it! That first shot is a prime candidate for crosseyeing.

One of these days I'll have to start taking things seriously... :D But I do like these shots.
