Hi Everyone,

Just got the SB 800 and am doing a couple of shots. This is one of the first ones using it in wireless mode. Absolutely love the flash.

A number of photographers have reportedly sold their Canon gear and moved into NIKON simply to get access to the wonders of the SB800 lighting system. It is outstanding.

Very nice portrait. Love the mood created by the lighting.

Just got my sb800 a few days ago but my first efforts with it aren't much chop. My fault of course. :( . I guess I should post some for light relief  .

Look forward to seeing more.

Cheers, John

Hi Matt and John,

What you say about a number of photographers reportedly selling canon gear to move for the Nikon CLS advantage sounds very understandable especially once you use the SB 800.

I have done several shoots with about 3 elinchromes where now I think I could have got away with 3 SB 800s. Would have saved set up time and allowed me more freedom about where I could place my lights, probably would have got a few more pictures as well.

Though I guess that big flashes and umberellas etc. is part of the pro photographer image people have come to accept and might even look down on a photographer turning up with a couple SB flashes.

Nosh.

You and me both, John!

My SB-800 was supposed to arrive yesterday, but t'was not to bad... Birdy generously offered to lend me one of his personal SB-800s until mine arrived, and I jumped at the chance. The first few dozen test shots I did were really quite horrible :) but I think they were starting to look reasonable by the end... I will keep playing of course. Going to take lots of happy snaps over christmas :)

Glad I'm not alone.

I've posted up my first efforts here together with my sad story.

Looking forward to the SB-800 workshop, I need all the help I can get.
