I'm not so comfortable/confident photographing people but sometime my wife obliges.
Shot with D70 & Tamron 70-300mm.
Just wanted to play with some surreal colouring.
Thanks
Joel

Interesting shots Joel, usually I'm not a fan of the desaturated shots with something left in colour, usually as it doesn't fit the theme or add to the shot. But in this series it actually is part of the theme , and I think you've carried if off fairly well. In both shots I would of prefer a little more depth of field, or perhaps in the first shot to have the in focus part actually on the tinted green eye, so that the optical focus co-incides with your created focal point (if that makes sense... I'm having trouble explaining it eloquently).

The first one appeals to me but I would like to see more dof too. Not sure about the second one - I don't think the colour of the lips adds much. Perhaps it it was more reddish?

Neither of these work for me, but the second is worse for me. The first fails becuase there's just a little OOF area near the corner of the eye. In the second I keep fixating on the fact that I can see all those downy hairs on your wife's face. Now we all know they exist, we just don't normally see them like this. This REALLY distracts me from the image. (first thought was OMG I hope his wife knows these are on the internet

)
