Got an interesting "hardware" sculpture from the gf and decided to try and get a product style shot of it using my new sb800.

I used an xray viewer light box that a mate had gotten for me from a demoltion job he was doing as the base, and the sb800 with the diffuser on the camera.

I haven't tried this type of shot before so I was pleased with the results. Not catalogue quality, but better than I was expecting.

50mm, 1/60 sec, f11, iso 200

Looks pretty good John, there seems to be a slight blueish tint to the white of the background.. it's not too bad but just at the level where you notice it and it distracts from the product. Possibly a rub down with a cloth to remove fingerprints may have helped... but now I'm being extremely picky!
