Learning the how to use my new Christmas present :!:

cropped, taken at 200mm f4 1/30s handheld w/sb800

removed

Image could use some "cloning" of the branches but I was quite pleased overall. Detail is better on the original as opposed to jpg'ing

Gee the color is so bright I'm almost squinting, and looks like one heck of a case of red-eye

Amazing technology isn't it?

I have had a blast with the few shots I have taken. It's a different realm and perspective to use as opposed to my wide angle/landscape shots but I will find some good use for it no doubt. 8)

Those lorikeets are one photogenic bunch, aren't they?

Again, I cannot believe the shots people are getting out of this lens at those shutter speeds...

Cheers
Steffen.

Haha, that would be fun! I can just imagine the scared faces as we wave that lens around...

Seriously, though, I've often thought of bringing the camera to work, there are some great mugs to shoot there. It should be fairly easy at J1, too, diffusing white ceiling, fluoro lights - I'd probably put a green gel over the fill flash and shoot away.

Cheers
Steffen.
