In a futile attempt to find some snow for Birddog, we ventured into the Welsh Mountains today and encountered temperatures of -4.5°C....
Mrs. Leek and mini-Leek wisely stayed inside the nice warm car while I ventured outside to capture these images:

John 1,2 and 6 seem to have the WB out - the "white" is quite blue on my screen.

The whole group really convey a feeling of coldness, but #4 and #5 really stand out. The choice of a single foreground element with the OOF background really makes these images jump out at you.

#6 is superb John, love it! The warm foreground contrasts well with the cooler background, and the winding road leads you in. Top stuff! 1 and 2 have strange colours, almost a cyan cast in the 2nd one maybe? The water in 1 looks unnaturally blue. The second scene looks almost alien, but that may have been what it looked like! 3, 4 and 5 convey the cold, but don't do much for me. Sharper and more macro 4 and 5 would have worked I think (but as you say, may not have been possible).

Great images John. I can really feel the temperature in 1 and 2 perhaps a little too blue. #4 and #5 with that glorious complementary OOF background

They certainly convey the feeling of isolation and bitter cold John. Maybe the heavy snow in Kent will work its way across to you soon

Thanks for your comments... I agree about the WB... I'm doing my PP on an el-cheapo LCD at the moment and when I uploaded it to a PC with a CRT the PP did look a little overdone... The frost tends to desaturate all the colours, so maybe I overcompensated... #2 is pretty close to how it looked though...
I can see that I'll have to do a lot of PP again when I get home...
