Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Had to clone out a powerline that went right thru the fish :?

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

Wow, one of those times when you smile looking at the LCD after taking the image... Good light, good detail, sharp as, would never have known about the clone too, well done...

Nice photo of an Osprey. My only nit would be that there is no eye contact - that the birds head hasn't turned to you.

good capture of an osprey. We dont really get these down my way although a pair is nesting on the northern beaches.

Wonder what lens and percentage of frame this is??

Kipper - I got that one away earlier while it was on its perch (power pole) :wink:

It was shot with my 70-200 2.8L fitted with Sigma 1.4x TC. Strangely the focal length was reported as 140mm :? but I'm sure it was further away than that. Shot at 1/800th, f5.6 (1 stop from wide open) and ISO 400.

As far as cropping, its about the middle 1/3rd of the photo (give or take). Was originally a landscape shot.

Both images are excellent Dion. To actually photograph the Osprey with its dinner is a $64,000 shot :)

Both shots are cropped, about 1/3 to 1/2 the original frame.
