My first wedding shoot - Nov 05

Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Hello all,
this is seriously overdue...

I shot my first wedding on the 8th November last year (2005)
Ive been on holidays for the last 5 weeks and havent been able to post the photos Ive taken.

Overall, it was an excellent day. With a lot learnt, and needed to be learnt! They were a joy to photograph (new friends).

photos were taken on D2h, F100, F80 cameras.

Many many (cant say enough many's) thanks to birddog for the loan of his 70-200VR and D2h. Im not sure I could have pulled it off without them!!

Im looking forward to doing more weddings in the future.

thanks rebel, yes my first wedding shoot.

I brought to the day a few misconceptions about wedding photography.

I thought wedding photographers were supposed to be 'hidden' during the ceremony, this stopped me getting the best angles and after talking to my wife, she pointed out how they'd be more concerned about getting memories (photos) then seeing me a few times during the ceremony.

My friend had a wedding and the photographer nearly tripped up the bride trying to get infront of her to grab a photo of her walking down the aisle (stepped on the train of her dress)

It certainly tests your ability to act fast and know what you are doing.

Jonathan,

I just thought I'd let you know the other night my wife sat down and was reading over my shoulder, I think she then spent the better half of an hour viewing each of your shots and enjoying your approach to your first wedding. It's hard to believe it was your first, as you seem to have handled nearly all the situations like a seasoned professional, well done, and good luck with your next one.

Well done for your 1st wedding, some great images captured there.

With respect to your web page, I don't know if it's your web server or the fact you're using flash however I found the page painfully slow to navigate through and gave up viewing most of the images in larger format.
