My first wedding shoot - Nov 05Hello all,
this is seriously overdue... I shot my first wedding on the 8th November last year (2005) Ive been on holidays for the last 5 weeks and havent been able to post the photos Ive taken. See some of them over at my photo album... (over 500x were taken on the day...) http://www.jdear.com/photos/iGallery.php click on the album link - 'James and Chaya Tidd' on the left under 'Weddings' Overall, it was an excellent day. With a lot learnt, and needed to be learnt! They were a joy to photograph (new friends). photos were taken on D2h, F100, F80 cameras. Many many (cant say enough many's) thanks to birddog for the loan of his 70-200VR and D2h. Im not sure I could have pulled it off without them!! Im looking forward to doing more weddings in the future. Ta for looking, Jonathan
Oh, what a beautiful job! First wedding? Really nice job for the first wedding!
This is my favorite one, it's lovely! http://www.jdear.com/photos/iGallery.php?fid=11&id=145
thanks rebel, yes my first wedding shoot.
I brought to the day a few misconceptions about wedding photography. I thought wedding photographers were supposed to be 'hidden' during the ceremony, this stopped me getting the best angles and after talking to my wife, she pointed out how they'd be more concerned about getting memories (photos) then seeing me a few times during the ceremony. My friend had a wedding and the photographer nearly tripped up the bride trying to get infront of her to grab a photo of her walking down the aisle (stepped on the train of her dress) It certainly tests your ability to act fast and know what you are doing. Bring on the next one! Jonathan
Jonathan,
I just thought I'd let you know the other night my wife sat down and was reading over my shoulder, I think she then spent the better half of an hour viewing each of your shots and enjoying your approach to your first wedding. It's hard to believe it was your first, as you seem to have handled nearly all the situations like a seasoned professional, well done, and good luck with your next one. Cheers, Craig
Hey Jonathan.
Well done for your 1st wedding, some great images captured there. With respect to your web page, I don't know if it's your web server or the fact you're using flash however I found the page painfully slow to navigate through and gave up viewing most of the images in larger format. regards Does the name Pavlov ring a bell?
I agree, very slow to load.
Jonathan, you have some sensational images here mate, congrat's and well done, your friends should be very happy. Have you had some nice enlargements done yet?
