Mark. Superb - #2 and #3 stand out for me for very different reasons. #2 I just love the composition with the blade leading my eye into the image and #3 has a wonderful feeling of connectedness between the subjects.

For me #3 is the standout shot. It would be nice to remove the shadows from the young ladies face, especially the shadow of the young mans hair.

I think the last two are the best shots. Great work.

This is a great series, with a nice variety of techniques / compositions.
#2 and #3 are probably my favourites, but I find things I like about all of them.

Beautiful stylish and contrasty work Mark. Great visual impact and tone.
Compositionally very strong.

I wonder whether the young man's grip could have had more impact had the hands been overlapping over the blade thus creating more balance and symmetry with the arms and elbows.

Love #2 with blade acting as lead for the eye but for me the sole flat on the floor would diminish its ability to hijack my eyes on its travel up the blade.

Like the tension between the 2 characters in #3 but as chris mentioned the hair shadow over girls nose and shadow over her chin is a little distracting.

Last one is terrific also but I'm left wondering the effect of including the girl's lower hand in the shot?

Stark gothic beauty simple stated. Great shots Mark.
cheers
marco

thanks all for the lovely comments, I allowed these two to do what ever came to mind for them and only at one point when I got blank stares did I direct some emotive fun out of them, asking for them to take turns giving the other the cold shoulder for some fun. :D

Dasha is Ukrainian and Mischa is from Singapore but I suspect his family hail from the Ukraine anyway.

thanks again!
