Taken just as it started to rain, I felt fortunate to have had a fisherman walk into my capture as in my opinion added a sense of place and dimension.

Lostdingo - desolate and beautiful. Well captured - hope you didn't get the camera gear wet?

Composition wise the beautiful colour in the foreground compliments the pastel shades of the middle onwards. All in all a wonderfully captured photograph.

blacknstormy-not too desolate as at our backs there are 4 million residents Sydney Camera did get wet from the rain and honestly in the photo there are water drops but I didn't bother to try and remove, they blended in well enough

sirhc55-I liked the colours also, nothing overpowering. The comp, it was one of those pictures that when you looked through the viewfinder "It just felt right"

Yes! This works well... The fisherman gives the eye something to settle on after going through all the interesting items in the image, this is excellent... That needs printing and framing...

This is a terrific image - you should be very proud.

Great stuff,as has been said, the Fisherman puts the icing on the cake for this shot. The water is really lovely in this shot.... BTW I noticed when viewing the shot (while replying.. it could almost be two seperate shots as well... one of the rock shelf and fisherman and one of the foreground rocks.. both work for me as stand-alone shots.

Nice shot mate, I agree with you in that the Fisherman gives great perspective on it. If you don't mind me asking, what shutter speed were you using?

The fish must not have been biting that day as he seems awfully still...

Wonderful image.

This is an unusual array of pastels for a beach scene. Very captivating. And that strategically placed lone angler makes it a very interesting composition, too.

Did you PP this a lot or did it come out just like that? If the latter, there is a lot to be said for "poor light"...

Steffen - this is an unusual beach overall The sand is what one would first notice as it is red. The beaches to the left and right both have sand just as you anywhere else but this small strip it's red. That's why there is so much contrast at the bottom with the red sand, greenery under the water and then to the top the cloudy sunrise has a pastel effect.

I don't like to PP much, I'm lazy If you look closer at the angler you will see a ghost image behind him, some places of the pic are water drops on my lens as it was raining.

Typical PP I do is correct lens distortion (usually -3%), sharpen 100% @ .3 pixels and adjust saturation, this one was approx +9
